Why is there no enthusiasm for work?
Who has the enthusiasm to work? No one in this world has it.
A father asks his son whether he is interested in studying or not. Who is not interested in studying? Everyone is studying about the result, and if they do not study, they are studying because they are threatened that they will have to get punctured in any bicycle shop. If it is a girl, they are made to fear by saying that she will have to work in four houses and live. There is a negative emotion there.
Many are showing interest in watching movies and even playing games. But that interest is not in studying. Because they are enjoying that task. There is no interest in the result. There is no condition there. The mind wants to run away from wherever there is a condition.
There is no condition in watching movies or watching web series on OTT. So the mind can focus well there and enjoy it. We go to school because we want to be a good officer. We have to do good business and earn money. We are interested in that result.
When only the result is glorified and told, who is it that our parents, teachers, and motivational speakers say? We do not see the work but the result that comes from that work.
Now, if you study, you will get better, but if you do not study, you will get worse.
We should learn to enjoy the work, not the result. Since childhood, we have been told only about the result, not about enjoying the work.
I want to do business; why do I have to earn a lot of money? I have to drive a good car; I have to please four people. I am interested in that result. When there is an excessive desire for the result, then it becomes difficult to work.
I cannot say whether the result will come just by working; many factors affect the result.
For example, a girl writes a competition exam. At that time, the girl got her period. Where could the girl not perform properly?
A boy is preparing for IIT coaching for eight months. Another person is taking long-term coaching for 2 years; then the boy who took it for two years has more chances of getting in.
This is behavioral science, in which no two factors are the same. In physical science, there are precise reasons for how a machine works. But in behavioral science, it is not like that. No two factors are equal.
Two are writing a competition exam. Both have been preparing for eight months, and for one of them, everyone in their family is educated. So that will be a plus point for him.
For another boy, no one in his family is educated; he has to do a part-time job during the day and come and study. Now that will be a minus for him. What are we looking at? We are only looking at the result.
The more you attach to the result, the less focus you have on the work. So what you need to do is enjoy the work; the result is never within our reach.When we enjoy our work, results will come automatically.
