What is Existentialism?
Existentialism‘s perspective on life is distinct from that of other philosophical schools. Existentialists don’t see difficulties and suffering as bad things; rather, they see them as opportunities to live. They consider suffering as the other side of the coin of happiness, only as a #state_of_mind.
There is no possibility of #happiness without suffering, and there is no possibility of happiness without difficulty. The more suffering a person experiences, the more happiness he naturally gets. Happiness and suffering are two directions of life. In the oscillation, the more one goes in one direction, the more the other direction also goes in that direction.
Suffering is inseparable from life. No matter how far one goes, no matter how much one tries to escape, the pain does not leave the person. The only thing a person can do is comprehend and experience it. There is no way to relieve pain without also experiencing pain. The more pain a person experiences, the more happiness that person also gets.
#regret is completely avoided by existentialists. Unless one experiences the negative effects of bad decisions made in the past, one should not be concerned. Worrying about the past deprives one of life in the present. As a result, there will be no way to get rid of one’s worries because they will only get worse.
