What this generation needs is not the Sanatana Dharma recited by Chaganti Koteswarao, but the Samana Dharma preached by people like Nijagunananda Swami..
Generally, when Swamis wearing saffron are giving lectures, no one from the youth generation is seen around them. But when Nijagunananda Swami is giving a speech in Karnataka, the youth take videos on their mobile phones and post live on Facebook.. His lectures are so attractive.. The applause goes on for as long as he is giving the lecture.. No channel has the guts to broadcast his lectures on TV.. He is recognized as the WhatsApp Swami and the YouTube Swami.
Like Basavanna, who was born in a Brahmin family in the 12th century and founded Lingayat Dharma by opposing the injustices and superstitions in Hinduism, Nijagunananda Swami also embraced the Brahmin caste of his birth and not Hinduism, but Lingayat Dharma. He is spreading the Basava principle of work is worship to this generation. All his lectures are blunt and straightforward. He criticizes those who tell almanacs and horoscopes on TV. He questions the injustices and ignorance in Sanatana Dharma. Some of his recent speeches have been popular…
- Why don’t Hindus who worship the cow as God worship the pig? Varahavatar is one of the ten incarnations of Vishnu.
- This country will be destroyed at the hands of traditionalists. I will not accept anyone doing foot worship to me. If it is true that washing the feet of masters like us and drinking that water will bring merit, then it is okay to take our feet and put them in the Cauvery River. All those who drink that water will get merit.
- This country was not destroyed by those who eat meat. It was those who eat ghee who destroyed this country. The majority of people in this country are non-vegetarians..
- Where are the astrologers who tell horoscopes on TV when there are floods in Chennai and earthquakes in Gujarat?
- Basavanna is limited to Karnataka only.. If his verses had reached all parts, this country would have been different.. Such a great person was chased and killed in the middle of the night, not by Muslims or Christians, but by our Hindu traditionalists…
- The whole world created by the word God in this country is not so much.. Everyone is afraid of God.. What will He do if we do not worship Him. They are ruining the money they have earned by going around the temples.. That Supreme Being does not expect anything from you.
- Earn it honestly and honestly. Buy a BMW car and wear woodland shoes.. Spend time with your family, play well with your children, eat what you like and sleep.. If you are alive, get up early. Otherwise, die. Death has to come to everyone someday.. Even a Swami like me dies, and a priest in a temple dies.
- Hinduism has made hardworking farmers, laborers and Shudras.. Is this religion? Is this justice..? That is why Basavanna founded the Lingayat religion.. and said work is worship.. No religion in the world has said this..
- We are taking loans while worshipping Lakshmi. America and Japan give us apples without any Lakshmi Devi..
- This country will improve when people who stand in queues for darshan of God in temples stand in libraries..
- That Supreme God does not demand sacrifices and offerings from his children. He treats everyone equally.
These are his sermons.. He is always fighting against superstitions by quoting Basavanna’s verses somewhere. He is fighting against communal conflicts along with Rationalist Muslims. He is fighting to recognize the Lingayat religion, which has rejected the Vedas and Upanishads, as a separate religion.. Lingayat religion also opposes the concept of heaven and hell. Basavanna’s verses are the only guide for Lingayats.. It is shameful to recognize the Lingayats, who fought against the caste system in Hinduism, as another caste. The traditionalists of that time chased and killed Basavanna for fighting against Hinduism, caste discrimination and gender discrimination. He says that he will be killed one day too, but he will not stop fighting… Lingayats worship Shiva.
In their eyes, Shiva does not mean a Shivalinga or an idol of Shiva. Shiva is just an ultimate power and has no form..
But most of the Lingayats today (20% percent of Karnataka population) worship all the gods and live as ordinary Hindus.. Only very few understand Basavatvatva and live.. If a situation arises where it is not possible to live as an atheist in this country, I will also accept Lingayat religion..
