A person may have loved many people. One might forget those they loved, but they never forget those they hated. Love and hatred are, in essence, two sides of the same coin. There is no great danger posed by those one loves; the real danger lies with those one hates.

Naturally, we have been subjected to various forms of “brainwashing”. We are taught not to see evil, not to speak evil, and not to hear evil. However, from a natural perspective, this is not how things work. Science is not about altering nature; it is about understanding nature and aligning our way of life with it. The more we attempt to act contrary to nature, the greater the difficulties we encounter.

In a school classroom, a teacher wrote the 7 th table on the blackboard. She wrote nine entries correctly, but she wrote one incorrectly—stating that 7 x 7 = 48. Immediately, the students sitting in the front row stood up and pointed out, “Madam, you have made a mistake.” The teacher then responded, “I wrote nine entries correctly; yet, instead of acknowledging those nine correct ones, you are questioning me solely because of the single mistake.” She proceeded to deliver a moral lecture on the importance of “positive thinking”. However, no matter how many moral sermons are preached, the brain and body invariably focus on the negative side. Why? Because the negative poses a potential danger; consequently, the brain, the body, and all the sensory organs remain constantly attuned to the negative.

There are approximately 8.5 to 9 billion people inhabiting this earth. Of that number, nearly 8 billion people hold a strong belief in God. This could be any deity—Jesus, Allah, Rama, or any other. All these people place their strong faith in some form of the Divine. One night, suddenly, the power went out across the entire world. At that moment, would people think, “God exists; He will save us”? No—their very first thought would be, “There is a ghost.”The brain and body neither believe in God nor in ghosts. Their sole focus is on self-preservation. This is because the mind has suggested the possibility—however remote—that a ghost might be present. Consequently, the body reacts exactly as it would if a ghost were truly there.

Similarly, our focus tends to gravitate toward the people or creatures we detest; thoughts of them replay endlessly in our minds. For instance, a young woman might harbour an intense hatred for snakes; as a result, they appear even in her dreams at night. Such hatred can stem from a variety of factors—be they familial, financial, or social. Why is this hatred ultimately detrimental to me? Because it causes my heart rate to rise and can lead to various physical ailments. If you cannot reconcile with someone or something, simply keep your distance; do not harbour hatred.
